Older signup history

FirstLook references are historical context only. They do not replace the current Steam account flow.

START HERE

Current signup workflow

  1. Open the official WARDOGS Steam page while signed into the account you intend to use.
  2. Find the Playtest section and use the action Steam currently displays.
  3. Revisit that same account when a new test is announced.
  4. Follow official Steam announcements and the WARDOGS community for status changes.

Start from the live Steam page

The safest player action is to compare the live Steam account state with the newest official communication. Old posts, screenshots, and search snippets can explain history but cannot establish current access.

Signup is not the same as entitlement

WARDOGS is a pre-release project. When an exact value, schedule, or account result is not publicly confirmed, the correct answer is to check the live build or official channel instead of filling the gap with guesses.

How signup decisions work

A signup action lets players request consideration when a test is available. It is not a promise that every requesting account receives access.

Checking the right account

Use the Steam account intended for play. Different accounts can display different Playtest states, so checking another account can create confusion.

After requesting access

Watch official channels for changes and revisit the Steam page when a new test window is announced. Do not rely on copied forms or unofficial pages.

Understanding the signup result

A signup page is a request mechanism, not a promise of admission. Testing programs often depend on account selection and active windows, so the result shown by Steam is more important than a completed form.

The official community route can help players locate announcements and information, while Steam remains the place where account-specific Playtest actions appear. These two destinations work together but answer different questions.

Avoiding outdated registration pages

Older FirstLook references may still appear in discussions because they were part of previous outreach. A historical signup mention does not mean the same registration path remains active. Always compare it with the current Steam surface.

Players who cannot find a signup option should first confirm the correct game page and account. A missing button can simply mean there is no active request window for that account.

A practical signup routine

Start from the official WARDOGS Steam listing, verify that it is the correct game, and use the action shown for the account that will play. Then follow official announcements for changes to the test status.

If acceptance does not happen immediately, that does not prove that the request failed permanently. It only means the current account state does not show access. Wait for official updates instead of searching for unofficial shortcuts.

Final signup check

Before taking action, players should confirm they are reading the current WARDOGS information rather than a cached page or an old community discussion. Official status can change during pre-release development, so the newest account and announcement wording remains the reference point.

A careful signup process reduces confusion because it keeps the Steam account, the official request surface, and the current test announcement connected. This is the clearest way to understand what participation options are actually available. Players can return to the same official destinations when new tests appear. The process may change, so the current wording should always replace memories of previous registration campaigns.
